Duck Camp 2022

Join Us This Summer!

​This July, Ripley is offering four weeks of half-day Summer Camp sessions for children entering grades 3-6 and grades 6-8 in the Fall of 2022.

Camp days are interactive, educational, and lots of fun! Get ready for exciting outdoor adventures where you'll learn about nature, wildlife, conservation, and more on the beautiful grounds of the Conservancy.

​Each session includes outdoor exploration, hands-on activities, experiments, games, crafts, and interaction with our amazing flock of 400 birds from around the world!

We will be following all state and CDC Covid-19 guidelines for camp.

We ask that you complete Page 1 of the Registration Forms and return that to us asap, via e-mail or US Mail.   • ​Register Now! Each AM & PM Session is limited to 8 participants.
  • Session Hours: AM: 9am-12pm / PM: 1pm-4pm
  • Week 1 runs TUE-FRI (July 5-8) 
  • Weeks 2, 3 & 4 run MON-FRI (July 11-15 - July 18-22 - July 25-29)
  • Your child may only attend either the AM or the PM Session each week.
  • Tuition Week 1: $160 (Members) / $180 ​(Non-Members)
  • Tuition Weeks 2, 3 & 4: $200 (Members) / $225 for (Non-Members)​
  • ​Once your child's spot is confirmed, your Registration Form and Parent Info Packet must be complete and turned in to RWC by June 17.
  • Camp will be held at the Ripley Waterfowl Conservancy located at: 55 Duck Pond Road, Litchfield, CT 06759
  • Regardless of the Session theme, each camper will be paired with their very own duck for hands-on learning!​

This week is for the bird lovers! Campers will be given the opportunity to raise their very own bird. Bird introductions will take place on Tuesday where campers will be matched to their bird and tasked with taking care of their animal throughout the week. Each day campers will learn more about their bird, including life history, anatomy, breeding, and husbandry while assisting with animal care.  

Tuition is pro-rated for this 4-day week.
Scientific Discovery
July 11th-15th

​Join us to explore what it takes to become an environmental scientist. Campers will conduct scientific experiments to discover the challenges of clean up after an oil spill, the impacts of climate change on critical habitat areas, and how species respond to environmental stress. This week of camp is perfect for any student interested in exploring the environment  beyond the end of the school year.

Throughout the week campers will learn all about the wonderful world of waterfowl.

​Join us this week to learn about the power of nature. From the strength of a tornado to the speed of a cheetah, we will investigate some of nature's most spectacular feats of speed, strength, and adaptation. This week is perfect for curious adventurers wanting to explore the wonders of the natural world.
