Ripley's Species Introduction Videos

Welcome to our new video page. The videos posted below originally appeared live on our Facebook page and were added here as an available education resource for anyone interested in learning more about our mission to conserve waterfowl and wetlands and the species that we protect here in Litchfield, Connecticut. We will be posting additional videos throughout the upcoming weeks, so make sure to check back and see what's new! 

​**Teachers, if you would like to incorporate these videos into your curriculum, please contact Nora Hulton, Ripley's Head of Education, who can supply worksheets to accompany each topic. 
Video 1: An introduction to Ripley and a look at the Baer's Pochard.
Video 2: An examination of the four swan species found at Ripley. Species include the Whooper Swan, Tundra Swan, Trumpeter Swan, and Black Swan. 
Video 3: Meet our Spectacled Eiders! Some of the friendliest birds at Ripley, these Sea Ducks are sure to delight. 
Video 4: Poppy is our resident North American Barn Owl and one of Ripley's Avian Ambassadors. Enjoy learning about the unique adaptations that make owls spectacular birds of prey!
Video 5: You've met our Spectacled Eiders, now meet our Common Eiders! 
Video 6: A fan favorite, Lowry is a Cape Barren Goose with a big personality. Take a look at what makes this Avian Ambassador unforgettable!
