Thank you to our 2021 Annual Appeal Donors! We would not be able to continue our work without your support.
Friends of the Conservancy, thank you for your generous support! Without you we would not be able to continue our mission to conserve waterfowl and wetlands. Your support in 2020 contributed to:
Education Ripley's many education programs seek to inspire the next generation of conservationists. Grants and donations help us to provide afterschool programs, summer camp, in classroom, onsite, and distance learning programs. These interactive learning experiences empower children of all ages to become excited by our planet and the wonderful creatures that it holds.
Research Ripley is committed to the future of waterfowl around the world, and part of that future depends on understanding current threats that birds are facing. By partnering with organizations around the world such as the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, The Atlantic Flyway Council, and Canadian Wildlife Service, we seek to better understand what is happening to our wild birds.
Conservation Ripley is actively working to prevent the loss of critically endangered species through our breeding program, focusing on species that are endangered; many threatened by habitat loss, climate change, and environmental pollution. There is never a shortage of species that need our protection and the team was thrilled to expand our conservation efforts by acquiring a pair of Siberian Cranes this year. Only 3600 (estimated) individuals remain in the wild, with just 17 in captivity in the United States. It is an honor to provide a habitat and care for these critically endangered and truly valuable creatures. In the future, we will continue contributing to the longevity of endangered species.
As 2021 approaches please consider continuing your support towards research, education, and conservation action. Check out a full list of Ripley's 2020 supporters here.
