Our Mission

Passionate

Our organization was founded by S. Dillon Ripley, a man who had a deep and abiding enthusiasm for conservation. Today, our staff honors that enthusiasm and believes that conservation action is our calling.

Hands on

All of our employees get their hands dirty. Our team knows that if we want change, we need to chip away at it, there are no days off. Our staff is always ready and always on, that's how much we care about our mission.

Collaborative

We cannot educate a generation of people about the importance of biodiversity without the help of others. That’s why we join forces with other organizations. To change the world, it’s going to take more than just us.

OUR GOAL

To mend what is broken and help to provide waterfowl with the best chance of survival.
Research
We partner with outside organizations to investigate species' needs, create awareness, and share our collection with those who are also working towards waterfowl conservation.
Education
Through our in-school, online, and on-site programs, we give people a reason to be moved to protect our natural world. We partner with local organizations, to increase reach to children and adults and ensure that our message is heard by as many people as possible.
Conservation
To minimize further loss of biodiversity, we breed rare and endangered birds in captivity, to ensure that the secrets that they hold are not lost to us forever.
